Within the round, ornate twisted frame nestles a hand pierced partial leaf form...textured with Irish linen...while further round on the frame, an intricate leaf {taken from a pressing in my sketch-book} is formed over the circular cartouche - creating depth and shadow.....the puff leaf form topped off with a stunningly large white freshwater pearl.
The whole brooch is made from Sterling silver that has been finished to a chalky matt before being plated with 18ct gold, for a wonderful ochre tone.
The frame measures approx 5cm in diameter. The pearl is approximately 11mm in diameter.
